Dr. Abdul Raziq Kakar is Founder of the World Camel Day[سمول]
The first World Camel Day was launched in June 2009. A small one-day seminar was organized, in which the author delivered a detailed lecture about the importance of the camel, its history, its role in culture, food security, etc. I invited the policymakers of the Balochistan province and emphasized the role of camels in the food security of the region. Later on, each year many more people joined us and then celebrated in different quarters of the world. The interest of people is increasing in camels as they understand this important large herbivore and new people are coming into the circle and celebrating world camel day with us.
Dr. Abdul Raziq Kakar (author) is the founder of World Camel Day. Many friends, colleagues, and scientists helped me in this process. The event was always supported by camel lovers (Camelists) from different quarters of the world.
