د جسټینین اول د واکمنۍ پر مهال، د هغه وراره جسټین د تخت پر وړاندې د دسیسې په تور تورن شو او د مرګ په سزا محکوم شو. جسټین د سنت سرجیوس او باچوس سره مخ شو، چا چې د جسټین بې ګناهي تایید کړه. جسټین خوشې شو او د قیصر لقب ته بیرته راستون شو. د امپراتور کیدو وروسته، هغه د شکرانې په توګه د سنت سرجیوس او باچوس کلیسا جوړه کړه، کوم چې د هاګیا صوفیا د جوړولو څخه دمخه تاریخ لري.

عثماني دوره

په ۱۵۰۶ کال کې د قسطنطنیه د عثماني امپراتورۍ له فتحې وروسته، دا ودانۍ د سلطان بایزید دوهم تر واکمنۍ پورې د کلیسا په توګه کارول کېده. له هغې وروسته (د ۱۵۰۶ او ۱۵۱۳ کلونو ترمنځ) دا د حسین آغا لخوا په جومات بدله شوه. بیا په کې یوه مدرسه هم جوړه شوه.

په ۱۷۴۰ کال کې، لومړي وزیر حاجي احمد پاشا جومات بیا رغاوه او د اوبو رسولو لپاره یې هم بندوبست وکړ. د ۱۸۳۱ او ۱۷۶۳ کلونو د زلزلو له امله رامنځته شوی زیان په ۱۸۳۱ کال کې د سلطان محمود دوهم د واکمنۍ پرمهال ترمیم شو. په جومات کې د لومړي ځل لپاره په ۱۷۶۲ کال کې منار جوړ شو. جومات په ۱۹۴۰ کال کې ویجاړ شو او په ۱۹۵۶ کال کې بیا جوړ شو.

د ودانۍ د ساختماني بشپړتیا لپاره د مخ په زیاتیدونکو ګواښونو له امله، دا څو کاله دمخه د یونسکو د خطر سره مخ یادګارونو په لیست کې اضافه شو. د نړیوال یادګارونو وجهي صندوق دا په ۲۰۰۲، ۲۰۰۴ او ۲۰۰۶ کې د ۱۰۰ خورا خطرناکو ځایونو په لیست کې شامل کړ. د پراخې بیارغونې وروسته چې څو کاله یې دوام وکړ او د ۲۰۰۶ کال په سپتمبر کې پای ته ورسیده، دا د عبادت لپاره بیا پرانستل شو.
